Find out who you are and what you need to bring balance to your life. According to the ancient science of Ayurveda, there are three doshas—vatta, pitta and kapha. These are energies that pervade the body and mind, each with different functions crucial to the health of the body systems and the mind. They relate to the five elements and the three gunas. All of the doshas can be found in everybody, but the differing amounts—received at conception—determine a person’s constitution.
Your constitution affects things such as your frame and musculature and joints; skin, hair, nails; quality of sleep; digestion and eating habits; and memory. Knowing your constitution is key to your health, as it is essential for understanding which lifestyle is best suited to you. Imbalances can be addressed with the same insight and wisdom.
Together, Yoga and Ayurveda show a way to live naturally and achieve radiant physical, mental and spiritual health
