Ayurveda, Bhakti Yoga and the Spiritual Art of Self-Nourishment
Durga Leela is visiting Los Angeles! Yoga of Recovery is a comprehensive program that integrates Ayurveda and Yoga with recovery tools for a holistic mind, body and spirit approach for all those affected by addiction and self-destructive behaviors.
We must learn to creatively channel our senses before we can control or withdraw them.
Drawing on two of the Six Tenets of Yoga of Recovery — Life is Sweet and Life is Love — we will explore how Ayurveda and Bhakti Yoga help us transform our relationship with sensory pleasure, desire and the deeper longing of the heart.
Life is Sweet invites us to seek beauty, cultivate self-care; and Life is Love invites us to spiritualize our relationship with the five senses and practice the presence of the Divine we feel in our hearts, through the practices of Bhakti Yoga.
Durga Leela (BA, CAS, PKS, Yoga Acharya, C-IAYT) is founder of Yoga of Recovery™ and author of a comprehensive book with the same name. She holds the RYT-500 qualification, having completed both the Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training Course and an Advanced Yoga Training. She is also extensively trained in Meditation and Vedanta. She is a Clinical Ayurvedic and Pancha Karma Specialist, trained at the California College of Ayurveda and at the School of Ayurveda and Pancha Karma in Kerala, India. She was the Director of the Ayurveda Programs at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in California for many years and a professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA).
