Pranayama & Kriyas for Cleansing (2 days)

Onsite registrants must be vaccinated and wear a mask indoors.
Online registrants will receive a Zoom link at least one hour before the first class.

Saturday and Sunday, February 19 and 20

Join us for two days—purifying the body with breath. Practice pranayama breathing exercises to improve mental and physical health, balance the two hemispheres of the brain, balance the two energies of yin and yang, balance emotions, and increase vitality for the body.
Practice the Kriyas for purification: to remove waste and clean the organs and pipes inside the body.

SATURDAY 2/19
***Note: Do not eat anything this morning.
6:00–7:30am  Satsang
8:00–9:30am
  Introduction of the 6 Kriyas and how Asana and Pranayama assist nature in removing waste products from the body. Neti theory and practice, airway hygiene, tongue hygiene, correct breathing
10:00–11:30am  Gentle Yoga Class with focus on pranayama
**Please eat only kitchari and bland greens for lunch. (We can send you the recipe os you are attending this program online.)
12:15–12:45pm  Silent walk
1:00–2:30pm  Ayurveda daily cleansing, dinacharya
3:00–4:30pm  Self Massage for cleansing and rejuvenation. We will practice with sesame oil, so wear shorts and, for women, a strapless top. Have a set of clothes to wrap up in afterwards that you don’t mind getting oily. Plan to rest afterwards.

SUNDAY 2/20
Note: Do not eat anything this morning.
8:00–9:30am  Theory and practice of Kunjar Kriya, all naulis and Agni Sara. The relationship between Prana/breath/mind. Includes neti practice.
10:00–11:30am Yoga Nidra session
**Please eat only kitchari and bland greens for lunch.
12:15–12:45pm  Silent walk
1:00–2:30pm  Three Bodies – Five Sheaths – How pranayama cleanses the energy channels
3:00–4:00pm  Gentle Asana practice

NOTE
• Participants must already know the two basic breathing exercises we teach: Kapalabhati and Anuloma viloma
• Please have your own neti pot, tongue scraper and candle.

Ganga Chaitanya has been director of the Sivananda Ho Chi Minh Center in Vietnam since 2011. She completed the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC) in 2009 and the Advanced Course at Yoga Farm, Grass Valley, CA in 2010. An Ayurveda and Yoga Health Consultant, she is also trained in the fields of Yoga Therapy and Yoga Psychology. She is a graduate of the 800-hour Sivananda Yoga Health Educator Training (SYHET). With her strong teaching experience, she has been the main Hatha Yoga instructor for the Sivananda TTC for many years in Vietnam, as well as internationally.
