The 6 Tenets of Yoga of Recovery offer a complete reframing of the problem of our ‘addictiveness’ and chronic lifestyle diseases and offer a solution according to the Vedic perspective. Each Tenet points to the Yoga pathway, perspective and practices that best allows us to express our inherent, natural desires in a more conscious way – with more internal awareness rather than externalized distractions and ‘fixes’

First Series: Longing and Relationship
9/22/21 to 11/17/21
Seeking Union and Seeking Connection – honoring our ancestors – building resilience, ancestor ritual, ACE (Adverse Child/Community/Climate Experiences). What are we devoted to? How do we practice our devotion? Returning to traditional rituals and creating new ones. Resourcing ourselves with classical and modern teachings of both Jnana Yoga and Bhakti Yoga, as well as practical exercises that carry the message of these yogas in more secular spaces.

12/1/21 to 1/26/22: Sweet and Love
Seeking Beauty and True Power – we must learn to creatively channel our senses before we can control or withdraw them. Learn sweet, self-soothing, constructive sense therapies and no longer have our sense desires cause disruption, distraction and destruction. spiRITUALize the use of our senses and practice the presence of the Divine we feel in our hearts.

|Prana and Progress – Healing the Habits that Bind
2/9/22 to 4/6/22: Prana and Progress
Seeking Vitality and Good Orderly Direction – investigate how we feel when our Prana is disturbed and what we can do to resolve that with yoga practices that energize, relax, soothe and restore. We’ll also discuss our need for Activism and how CARE is more crucial and constructive for us in the long term, rather than cure.
