POSTPONED – Speaking Peace with Gail McManus

22 March

Are you wishing for ways to contribute peace and stability in our complicated and challenging world? Are you seeking community based on mutual understanding and safety? In our time we may become confused and discouraged regarding societal, political and personal situations. There is an ever greater longing for conditions which engender empowerment, fairness, safety and trust. Nonviolent Communication fosters community-building. We become conscious of our intentions, develop the valuable tool of Empathy and experience Empowerment—even in unlikely circumstances. We find workable, creative strategies for what formerly seemed unsolvable situations. We become Peace-bearers in a world which is in need of healing and renewal.

Some NVC skills include:

  • Understanding the motives and intentions behind our words and actions
  • Expressing what you want using language which promotes mutual understanding
  • Saying “no” while maintaining a relationship of connection
  • Giving feedback that can be received and result in positive change
  • Expressing anger with dignity and care for ourselves and others
  • Expressing appreciation vs. giving a compliment
  • And much more…

Gail McManus is a practicing Communications Counselor and Mediator, having trained with many skilled leaders in the field including Marshall Rosenberg. Gail enjoys sharing the highly successful way toward improved self-awareness and connection with others known as Nonviolent Communication. www.gailmcmanus.com
