A puja is a bhakti yoga practice which can be very elaborate. Together, we will do a simple puja, which you will then be able to do on your own any time. We will provide a sheet with the chants, as well as a photo of Ganesha to print out if you like. We’ll talk about the symbolism of the offerings and developing bhav, or feeling, in the worship practice. It’s a sattvic feast for the senses.
If you are joining online, please collect what you have from the following list of items:
tray (placemat size)
small plate
small cup of water
flower
small strip of fabric or ribbon
flower petals from one flower
handful of rice
1 stick incense
oil lamp or tea light
arati lamp
small towel or napkin or tissue
incense holder or very small cup of rice to hold incense
small bell
3 powders (sandalwood paste, kumkum, Siva ash)
Guru pictures
Ganesha picture
a picture or murthi from your altar
Place all the items you collect on the tray, ready for the workshop.
