Join us for a kirtan workshop, where we combine stories and chanting. Opening our voice, heart, and mind, we receive benefits of these high vibrations! Turn emotion into Devotion through the expression of uplifting bhajans (chants).

In this workshop, we interweave the first three of the nine modes of Classical Bhakti Yoga practice. Sravanam: Hearing Divine stories. Kirtanam: Chanting Divine Names. Smaranam: Remembrance of the Divine.

Prem • Katha • Kirtan

Prem – Divine Love, unconditional and infinite Love for All

Katha – stories of the Divine

We will share stories, telling the life and lessons set before us as examples of Spiritual life by different manifestations of the Divine.

Kirtan – call-and-response technique of chanting of mantra — sacred energy encased in a sound structure

Mantras are exponentially powerful when repeated, creating a high vibration that provides healing benefits and transform lower emotions to feelings of peace, joy and contentment.

In this day and age, Sankirtan Yoga is the easiest, safest, cheapest and surest way for attaining Supreme Bliss. Sankirtan and the practice of the formula “Be good, do good” — this alone will bring one to the highest state of consciousness. The veil of ignorance of one’s True Self, the cause of suffering, will be torn away by doing Kirtan.

Music is the essence of this universe and is the should and the very breath of God. It is like the food for the appetite of the soul. It is sacred science, its goal being Self-Realization. Sangeeta Vidya (knowledge of music/song) is a holy and sacred science, which has a monetary gain. When a devotee sings with their intuitional and overflowing love of the Lord and Guru, they realize God.

Music when clearly expressed with Rasa (sentiment) and Bhava (feeling), gives wisdom of Brahman, wherefrom arise the highest virtues of Peace and Patience.
