ONLINE Asanas for Digestion

One of the unfortunate, but practical (and automatic), effects of the fight-or-flight response to stress is that energy for digestion is rerouted elsewhere. By the practice of yoga, we consciously activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which allows you to “rest and digest.” The breathing, the warmups, the sequence of poses punctuated by relaxation all support a healthy digestive fire, or agni. The sequence in this class will highlight excellent poses to counteract gas and bloating, stimulate the thyroid and increase peristalsis, regulating digestion and elimination.
