Yoga & Positive Thinking for Optimal Health (5-day Immersion)

Meets five consecutive days, Monday to Friday, May 20–24

Attend this therapeutic program as a Residential Retreat or come as a Day Guest*.

Learn or deepen your practice of the yogic tools to guide your mind in thinking positive thoughts, creating health and a joyful life.

Support your health and peace of mind with the powerful tools and knowledge of Yoga, meditation and breathwork. Gain diet and lifestyle tips. Join us for Hatha Yoga classes, breathwork, meditation, healthy vegetarian meals, and educational workshops in a supportive spiritual community at the LA Sivananda Yoga Center. Empower yourself with a holistic wellness routine. 

This is a program of the Sivananda Institute of Health & Yoga. It offers guidance from the 5 Points of Yoga in the Sivananda tradition and the 4 Paths of Yoga.

This immersive course includes a 90-minute personal health review prior to the program (in person or via Zoom) and one-on-one mini-consultation at the conclusion. Follow-ups possible.

Daily Schedule

(Items in bold indicate the Day Guest schedule)

6:00–7:20am -Satsang (meditation, chanting, inspiring talk)
8:00am Light Breakfast
10:00–11:30am – Yoga Class: Gentle Asanas and Pranayama*
12:00pm – Vegetarian Lunch*
1:00–2:30pm – Workshop*
2:45–3:45pm – Relaxation Techniques*
3:45–4:00pm – Personal Check-ins or Mini-Consultations*
4:00pm – Karma Yoga
6:00pm – Dinner

Saraswati completed her first Teacher Training Course on September 19, 1977.  She returned to her first love after retirement and obtained her second Teacher Training certificate on November 17, 2021.  She immediately enrolled in the Sivananda Yoga Health Educator Training program in January 2022 and has completed the coursework. 

Arrival & Departure

Arrive in the aftrnoon on Sunday
Depart at 4:00pm Friday

What to bring

Slip-on shoes, indoor slippers, loose comfortable clothing, writing materials, meditation shawl (if you have one) and water bottle.

If convenient, please bring your yoga mat. Otherwise, we have them to lend. If you have a sitting cushion you’d like to bring, you are welcome to do so.
