Resilience: Giving the Next Moment a Chance

Saturday, July 19 • 4:00–5:30pm

IN PERSON or ONLINE
Online registrants will receive a Zoom link at least an hour before the talk.

The essence of forgiveness is the ability to be resilient when things don’t go our way. It is a unitary experience of objecting to the way life is and trying to substitute the way you want it to be. Then we get upset that our substitution doesn’t take. Be at peace with what is. Give the next moment a chance.

Dr. Fred Luskin holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and Health Psychology from Stanford University. He is the Co-Director of the Stanford-Northern Ireland HOPE Project, an ongoing series of workshops and research projects that investigate the effectiveness of his forgiveness methods on the victims of political violence. He served as the Director of the Stanford Forgiveness Project, the largest research project to date on the training and measurement of a forgiveness intervention.
