Neuroplasticity with Amit Chaudhari, MDPhD

The brain is dynamic and can reorganize itself in response to various sensory experiences. In fact, it is more variable than previously thought. “Neurons that fire together, wire together.” With repetition, new connections can begin to be made in as little as a few weeks. This enables the human brain to adapt to new situations and even recover from damage due to trauma. This session will conclude with time for questions.
Amit Chaudhari, MDPhD is Chief Neurology Resident at UCLA Medical Center working in vascular neurology and neurocritical care. He received his medical and graduate degrees in 2018 from Rutgers University. He then completed a one-year AAAS policy fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and a preliminary year in internal medicine at UCSF Fresno. Amit has received several awards and funding grants for his research in Stroke, NeuroICU and NeuroInterventional Radiology. His recent clinical work focuses on using minimally-invasive medical devices to treat very sick patients in the NeuroICU and enhance their quality of life.
