“If you don’t have a sense that you exist in a community, then resilience is really hard. It’s just you against the world.”
—Fred Luskin, PhD
“Holding people accountable for their actions is not the same as blaming them for how you feel.”
It is now time to heal your grievances. Forgiveness is needed to help heal divided and embittered societies as well as hurtful situations between family and friends—for the longterm. Forgiveness relieves stress and increases energy and vitality. Release anger. Learn to tell a different story, one that allows you a degree of peace and a renewed sense of hope. Healing and emotional growth are possible. You have little to lose and so much to gain.
Dr. Frederic Luskin is a Senior Consultant in Health Promotion and the Director of the Stanford Forgiveness Projects. He speaks nationally on the importance of emotional intelligence and the need to manage stress. His research centers on the intersection of spiritual values and physical and emotional well-being.
