The symbol for Rahu and Ketu is the snake, which in mythology represents both wisdom and poison. Transformation, death and rebirth are similar themes. The lunar nodes as shadow planets—or secretive planets—can create fear and anxiety through their hidden energy. Their messages can be hard to understand. North node Rahu’s obsession is with the future, we are always hungry, never satisfied. Positioned directly opposite Rahu, Ketu’s obsession is with the past. It is idealistic and unrealistic, always rejecting things. The mind is pulled in both directions. What is needed is the present-moment awareness to process the information.
