Holistic Health Retreat: Life Skills for Middle Schoolers
Friday, March 21, 2025 – Sunday, March 23, 2025 PDT
With Anandi
Attend this therapeutic weekend program as a residential retreat or come as a day guest Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am–4:00pm PDT.
An unforgettable retreat for middle schoolers! Two nights and three days of experiencing a yogic lifestyle in the beautiful Sivananda LA Center. Each day, participate in a variety of classes and activities: Pranayama (breathing techniques) Asanas (yoga postures) Savasana (relaxation), guided meditations and Yoga Nidra.
Discover the joy that is experienced in giving, without expecting anything in return. In a very accessible way, we will have open discussions covering the ways of “right living”: nonviolence, honesty, generosity, self-control, self-regulation, “proper hygiene,” (in body-mind-spirit), acceptance and courage.
This is a beautiful opportunity for the kids to declutter their minds from over-stimulations from technology and social media and to spark their awareness in their true Self, in the power of Service and the joy of Love.
This is a program of the Sivananda Institute of Health & Yoga. It offers guidance from the 5 Points of Yoga in the Sivananda tradition and the 4 Paths of Yoga.
Includes a 90-minute personal health review prior to the program (in person or via Zoom) and one-on-one mini-consultations each day. Followups possible.
Anandi (Ana Maria Velazquez) has over 17 years of experience bringing yoga to both adults and children of all ages. She is a certified Sivananda yoga teacher. Among multiple other modalities, she is an “Anxious to Awesome” facilitator (a program geared to coaching preteens, teenagers and parents transitioning to a life with purpose, self love and joy). Anandi conducts retreats, workshops, summer camps and classes in a fun and accessible style. While applying the wisdom acquired through 14 years of motherhood, she herself becomes a teenager at heart. Anandi was one of 10 staff members at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India, conducting the Children Yoga Summer Camp in 2009 for over 100 children ages 8–14, an unforgettable experience that comes to life every time she teaches. She is completing her practicum in the 800-hour Sivananda Yoga Health Educator Training.
