Technical Guidelines for Online TTC Classrooms

We kindly ask that all students follow these guidelines to create a seamless and harmonious online classroom experience.

The Online TTC is composed of 5 online sessions each day. You will be directed to a password-protected landing page with a separate link for each session. You will use the same link for each session during the month. This will not change unless necessary.

When joining, you will first enter the “waiting room”. The teacher will then admit you to the class.

Guidelines

  • Please do not multitask while online with our community. Engage as fully as you would if we were in person.
  • The teacher or teacher’s assistant will take roll call in the beginning of each class. You are expected to be in view the whole class time unless you ask for permission to be momentarily absent to go to the bathroom.
  • Do not eat food during class time. Drink water or tea (no coffee) is fine.
  • Audio Guidelines – Everyone will be muted when entering or exiting the rooms to cut down on feedback and extraneous sounds. (You can troubleshoot your audio issue using Zoom’s audio help guide. You might also try leaving the event and rejoining it.
  • Video Guidelines – You are required to keep your video on during the TTC class sessions.
This helps the teachers (and each other) see that we are present and counter any disconnection that can come with using an online format.
  • Troubleshoot any video issue using Zoom’s video/camera help guide.
  • Audio and Video Recording is not permitted. Please take notes using your notebook.
Some recordings may be made available to you to help with your teaching.
  • The teacher will give you instructions on how to ask questions during the class. This can be done by “raising hand” or by typing the question into the chat box. To raise your hand, click on the icon labeled “Participants” at the bottom center of your screen. At the bottom right of the window, click the button labeled “Raise Hand”.

Thank you for helping us to make this a healthy and harmonious online experience for all.
