The course meets three consecutive Saturdays: March 16, 23 and 30 from 1:00–4:00pm.
Vedic Astrology or Jyotish is the science of karma, and a powerful way to foresee and navigate challenges we face in our lives. Jyotish helps us understand the “why” behind our life journey and to better align to Dharma. It is a sister science to Yoga and Ayurveda, and is also known as the “Eye of the Vedas.” Vish has found his most profound learnings of the Vedic system through this powerful Jyotish lens.
In this course, participants will learn a basic overview of Vedic Astrology, how it differs from Western Astrology (a great deal!), and the basic energetics of the planets, signs and houses used in the Vedic system.
Session 1 will focus on the personality of the planets, their mythology, and the signs they rule. Session 2 will be an exploration of the mysterious planets Rahu and Ketu and also gaining an understanding of the basic Vedic chart layout and the various houses. Session 3 will go into how to examine and interpret a birth chart, looking at various chart examples along with how to understand your own birth chart. (There will be a 15-minute break at 2:30pm.)
If you are comfortable, you can provide your birth details, and your chart will be discussed for teaching purposes during class.
Vishwajeet Chatterji is an accomplished business-leader-turned-Vedic-coach, and author of The Business Casual Yogi; Take Charge of Your Body, Mind and Career (Mandala Publishing), a guide to Yoga, Vedanta and Ayurveda for the corporate world. He is a regular speaker at both corporate settings and ashrams, and helps people navigate both material world and spiritual challenges through his Head & Heart Insights coaching practice.
Vish holds a BS in engineering from Northwestern, an MBA from Michigan and is a certified Executive Coach through UC Berkeley. A married father of three, he loves to garden, bicycle, and fix things around the house in his free time!
