with Karen Kain followed by panel discussion and Q&A
In the first part of the workshop, Karen (author of 'A Unique Life Fully Lived') will share about how she overcame insurmountable challenges as a single mother raising a medically fragile daughter who, as a result of vaccine injury at 6 weeks, was wheel chair bound until her death at age 15. Navigating through love, hope and courage and in spite of Lorrin only being able to blink to communicate, Karen created a very unique life experience for her only daughter… How she bridged the gap from special needs to creating mainstream experiences in all arenas of life: best friends, slumber parties, concerts, camping, entering her in the Miss Pasadena Beauty Pageants, Girl Scouts, school dances, musicals and endless travels excursions. As a sought after speaker at conferences around the country, Karen inspires families on how to create ‘mainstream’ relationships with ‘unique children’.
In the second part of the workshop we will be joined by local health practitioners, homoepath, Julie Mann and chiropractor, Don Trepany for a panel discussion and an opportunity to ask questions.
