Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm
Grass Valley, California

An ashram visit is a unique experience. The Yoga Farm is open 365 days a year. A weekend at the Yoga Farm can change your life!

The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm is one of nine international ashrams, and was established in 1971 by Swami Vishnudevananda. It has attracted serious seekers of peace , health, and enlightenment from all over the world. It nourishes a dedicated spiritual community located on 80 acres of land in the Gold Country of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills in Northern California.

Silent nature walks, temples, shrines, a swimming pond, labyrinth, and sauna are some of the facilities which help to relax and rejuvenate body and mind. The ashram provides an ideal setting to recharge and reconnect with magnificent nature. Enjoy weekend getaways or longer yoga vacations, workstudy programs or teachers' training courses.

Away from the stresses of modern life, the Yoga Farm is an oasis of serenity and beauty. You can come for the day, a weekend, a week, a month or even longer. Join us for specific courses, programs, retreats or teacher training, or stay as a work-study guest.

The philosophy of the ashram asserts that all life is One, and that true happiness and peace must be found within. The ashram offers us a perfect opportunity for personal spiritual growth and to experience the inner guiding Spirit that leads us towards Self-Realization. At the Yoga Farm all religious and spiritual traditions are honored.

Much of the food consumed at the Yoga Farm is grown in the Farm's organic garden and green houses. The tasty vegetarian meals at the Yoga Farm are cooked according to Yogic principles.

The schedule consists of various activities, some are mandatory while others are optional. For those desiring to become yoga teachers or simply want to increase their knowledge and intensify their practice, the Yoga Farm schedules Teacher Training Courses (TTC) twice each year.
