The Sivananda Open Class is an energetic yet relaxing class with emphasis on conscious breathing, relaxation, and concentration. This classical yoga session starts with initial relaxation (Savasana), followed by breathing exercises (Kapalabhati and Anuloma Viloma), six rounds of sun salutations (Surya Namaskara), the standard program of 12 basic postures (Asanas), and the final relaxation.
This class is 60 minutes and allows for some variation as given by the teacher. Students are advised to take a beginners' course before attending an open class. See Yoga Courses. No pre-registration is required.
